About
Foreverfamily is a 33-year-old nonprofit that serves children and families of incarcerated parents. In light of COVID-19 suspending in-person visitation and programs, we are shifting to new ways to assist our children during this time. With almost everyone attending school virtually, we recognize the need for additional one-on-one assistance for our children.
We are looking for volunteers to provide tutoring and homework help. We serve kids from ages 5-18, so we need tutors will be paired according to their comfort level and knowledge with the students. Tutoring will be conducted virtually, through Zoom or a similar application, therefore a stable internet connection, webcam, and microphone are required.
Commitment
-Complete volunteer screening, including a background check (approx. 1 hour)
-Attend Tutor Training (1.5-2 hours)
-Tutor a child at least once a week (approx. 1 hour a week)
-Complete at least one semester (approx. 3-4 months)
